Documents to prepare
- A valid 13-digit bar-coded ID or passport.
- Form UI-2.8 — banking details, stamped by your bank.
- Form UI-19 — your employment record, completed by your employer.
- Form UI-2.7 — another employer-completed form.
- Medical Certificate (Form UF86) — from a registered doctor, describing your illness and expected recovery time.
- An amplifying medical report from your doctor.
- A follow-up form to request ongoing payments.
The 14-day rule
You can only claim if you're unable to work for more than 14 days. The first two weeks of any illness are never covered — your payout is calculated only from day 15 onward, based on how long your doctor says you need to recover.
Why illness claims get rejected
- The illness or injury was caused by your own misconduct.
- You refused medical treatment or advice.
- You're already claiming from the Compensation Fund for the same injury.
- You resigned before falling ill.
- Documents are incomplete or unverified — especially Form UF86 or a bank-stamped UI-2.8.
- Your employer never registered you, didn't pay contributions, or refuses to complete your UI-19.
