Teaching points
- RTM1 is a stop line. Driving in A, you must stop before the line, then drive on when it is safe.
- A no crossing line. Traffic may not overtake or cross it from either side.
- A single X marking warns of a level crossing with one railway line ahead.
- RTM3 marks the pedestrian crossing, the lines between which pedestrians walk.
- Marking A is the solid no stopping line at the road edge. If you may not even stop there, you may certainly not park.
- Must turn right from that lane. Arrow E curves fully to the right. So that lane must turn right. The forked arrows are the ones that give you a choice.
- This is a yield line. Give way to everyone who crosses your path and where it marks a railway crossing that includes trains.
- An arresttor bed, an escape ramp is ahead. Use it to stop safely if your brakes fail.
- This road marking is going to only be for emergency stopping only. Right? You're not allowed to stop here to pick up passengers or just to take a break. Therefore, option B would be our correct answer.
- Remember, an arrester bed is going to be a safety feature that you're going to find on very steep roads, right? And that's going to help to stop vehicles that have brake failure. It's not going to be a parking area, nor is it going to be a decorative marking. Therefore, only option C is going to be correct.
- You are not allowed to drive on or stop on this painted island, right? It's obviously meant to separate traffic, and the only time that you are allowed to stop or drive on this painted island is if a traffic officer is going to, specifically, instruct you to do so. Therefore, option C would be the correct answer.
- The capital letter A in this road marking is going to stand for ambulances. Therefore, option B is going to be correct. Only ambulances may park in this bay.
- A solid white line cannot normally be crossed, right? But, there is one exception. And that's when it's necessary to avoid an obstruction. And an example of an obstruction could be maybe a broken-down vehicle. Therefore, option C would be correct.
