Overtaking
Rules
- 6.45 Overtaking / Passing
Teaching points
- Keep left and do not speed up. Hand signals are not required. So only the first two are correct.
- All three. Never overtake near the top of a hill, near a curve, or when smoke or anything else limits how far you can see.
- All three. Passing on the left is allowed when the vehicle ahead turns right on a road with two lanes in your direction or when a police officer directs you.
- The correct answer would be option A. And that's because you're allowed to overtake on the left only when the vehicle ahead is going to be turning right and there's going to be enough space to pass safely.
- Remember, a blind bend is going to restrict your visibility. It's going to be almost impossible to be able to see what's on the other end of that bend. That's why it's always illegal to overtake when approaching a blind bend. Therefore, option A would be correct.
