Stage 6
Reservation, restriction and combination signs
Plates that modify a sign's meaning, plus guidance and information signs.
Combination signs
- The plate with the stars is the night symbol. It shows the maximum speed allowed at night.
- The correct answer is going to be option C. No vehicle may stop in this area for any reason, including loading or unloading. Now, remember, just because the sign is going to have the icon of hatchback, it doesn't mean that the sign is only going to be for people driving hatchbacks. That's a very common mistake that people make in the actual test.
- This is going to be a warning sign and a regulatory sign combo, right? So, the top half will show the maximum speed, and the bottom half is going to warn you of visibility hazards. So, option C would be correct. You must reduce your speed to 60 km/h because poor visibility conditions are expected or present.
- When you see a road sign like this that's going to combine a speed restriction with a distance warning, it means that the restricted speed, which is 60 km/h, that must be observed for the full distance shown, which is going to be 6 km. Therefore, option C would be the correct answer. You must maintain the indicated speed limit for the entire 6-km stretch of winding road.
Guidance signs
- A culdeac sign. The red arm shows that the road turning to the right ends ahead.
- This road sign just basically means that the intersection is going to be controlled in three separate stages. And each phase is going to control a certain movement. So, just wait until the light is green and you can then perform any movement that you need to do. So, whether it's just driving straight ahead, whether there's a turn, you can then do so. So, the correct answer would be option B. The traffic lights ahead is going to operate on a three-phase system. Wait until the signal is green.
- Learners are going to see this sign and they're going to very often confuse it with a general guide sign, right? Now, this is actually going to be a fingerboard. Therefore, option C is going to be correct.
Information signs
- If you take a quick look at the icon, you can see that is a person playing golf, right? Now, remember, this sign is not going to restrict access to only golfers, nor is it going to require any vehicle to stop. Therefore, only option A is going to be correct.
Reservation signs
- A pedal cycle lane is going to be reserved exclusively for your bicycles, right? So, motor vehicles are not going to be allowed in this lane under any circumstances. Therefore, option A is going to be correct. Only bicycles may use this lane, all other vehicles are prohibited.
- A reserved lane sign, especially this one, is only going to be legally designated for a specific class of vehicles, right? And in this case, it's going to be for buses and authorised public transport vehicles. Therefore, option C would be correct.
